Today, we are going to learn what some of our spiritual blessings are, and when we’re done, you will know your spiritual blessings in Christ and be able to walk in that truth.

So many times, the enemy will lie to us about our worth and value. He’ll tell us we’re insignificant or that we don’t matter. But we’re going to take a look at what God says about what He has blessed us with.

Scripture Says We Have Spiritual Blessings

The scripture for today is Ephesians 1:3 and all scripture in this podcast is from the new King James version.

Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.

As I was studying this scripture, I came upon a commentary and this commentary talked of the rest of this passage being the spiritual blessings that we are blessed with.

Ephesians 1:4-6 is the rest of this passage and it reads:

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

There are four spiritual blessings in this passage:

We Were Chosen in Christ Before the Foundation of the World.

Just think about that for a moment. God, our Heavenly Father chose you to be his own child before the world was even created.

He thought of you.

He chose you out of all the people He ever created to be who you are, to be His child.

We are Holy and Without Blame Before Him in Love

Because of Christ’s death on the cross and resurrection, we are made holy by the blood of Jesus Christ. Our sins have been forgiven and we are without blame before God.

1 John 1:9 says:

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If you have confessed your sin to God, you are forgiven. You are cleansed by Jesus Christ’s blood shed on the cross. You are without blame before God because He has washed your sins away.

We Were Chosen and Predestined as His Children According to His Good Pleasure and Will.

God not only chose us as His children, but it made Him happy to have us as His own. He chose you and He is happy to have you, dear sister.

We are Accepted in the Beloved.

Because of Christ’s sacrifice for us, we are accepted by God the Father.  Christ is the beloved, and in Him we are accepted, not rejected.

We are accepted by God our Father, through Jesus Christ.

So How do We Live this Truth Out?

I’m going to go deeper into these truths in the coming weeks, but as we look at them more fully, one thing that we can do is thank the Lord for these blessings and remind ourselves that we are blessed with these spiritual blessings.

Paul starts off Ephesians 1:3 with:  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, bless the Lord for these blessings this week.

Praise Him and thank Him.

Thank the Lord for each one.

You could say something like:

Father, I praise You and I thank You that You chose me to be Yours before the foundation of the world. That through Christ, I am holy and without blame before You. Thank You that it makes You happy to have me as Your daughter and that I am accepted by my Father and heaven.

Can I pray for you?

Father God, I thank Yu that we are chosen by You, that we are holy and without blame before You. We are not in darkness anymore, but we are in the light of You. Thank You that it makes You happy to have us as Your daughters and that through Christ, we are accepted in the beloved.

I thank you, Father, that You would heal the wounds that have caused my dear sister in Christ to buy any lie that she wasn’t chosen, that she wasn’t significant, that she was rejected or unaccepted in some way. Help her Father to know that she is loved, chosen, holy and without blame before You in love, that Y ou are happy to have her as Your daughter and that You would help her to believe Your truth over any lie that she has been told.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
