The scripture for today Deuteronomy 20: 3-4 from the NKJV

And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

I want to talk about how we can feel alone while we’re in the battle. So many times, the things that we’re struggling with, the things we feel are coming against us, seem so much bigger than God. At times the shadows and the darkness seem so dark,  and we find ourselves uttering the prayer, where are you God? Help me God, I feel so alone.

I was meditating on this verse, and telling God how I felt alone in a situation. And I felt Him speak to my spirit and say, “I have always been with you in it. I have always been with you in it.”

And I said, “Lord, how? I felt so alone.”

I sat and I just listened in, and these memories kept coming about situations and how He worked in people and how He set things up for me to meet certain people and step out at certain times.

And I realized, the battle was dark, the battle was fierce and it was beyond dark at times.

But the Lord was working, and He was with me.

And these memories that came up, they weren’t these big, fantastic things that happened. They were little, small things that led to freedom.

I felt alone because the battle was fierce and overwhelming and dark, but God was with me. He was putting things together so that I could step out of that darkness. When I cried out to Him, “Help Me God, I feel so alone,” He was with me that very moment.

He is With You

So, I wanted to remind you today that God is with you in the battle.

He is with you in what you are struggling with.

And you may not see what He’s doing.

You might not see the greatness of what He’s doing because our God doesn’t always come with great pomp and a big parade.

Sometimes He comes quietly.

He comes to encourage you.

He comes to put things together so that you can step into what He has for you.

The darkness may seem big, but your God is with you.

You’re heavenly Father is with you.

So when you find yourself uttering the prayer, “Help Me God I feel so alone,”

remember that He is with you.

Some things you can do when you’re in that battle:

Declare the Truth

God, I know you’re with me.

Hang on to that scripture He’s put on your heart.

Worship

When you feel overwhelmed by the darkness, worship.

Just start singing to the Lord, worship Him, ask His presence to come and just help you and to fill you.

Plant the Word

Another thing that you can do is plant the Word of God in your heart by either memorizing that Word or writing it down and just looking at that Word every day, just planting that truth in your heart.

Prayer

So I would just like to pray for you today.

Father God. I pray for my sister in Christ, where she has been in a battle where it has seemed dark, where the shadows have seemed bigger than You at times.

I pray Father that You would remind her, as you reminded me, of how You are with her. That You would remind her of the little ways that You’ve been working quietly,You’ve been putting things together.

Remind my sister in Christ that You fight her battles and that she does not have to strive, but just follow You and Your leading, and You, in Your quiet way will lead her out of this battle.

I thank you Father for coming in and healing my sister’s heart, removing words of discouragement, removing, words that would lie about who she is, removing those things from her heart, removing the seeds that have been sown into her life that are not of You. And Lord, I pray that You would be with her as she plants the word in her heart through reading it, through memorizing it. And Lord, I just pray that my sister in Christ would realize that You are with her, that she would experience Your presence with her. That she would look at how you are with her. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
