Today I’ll share with you 8 Bible Verses to Comfort the Brokenhearted and a prayer I myself prayed when I wondered if I’d ever be healed.
My brokenness kept me from truly experiencing life. Trauma had marked my heart with many scars and I looked on as others experienced joy, gave testimonies and talked about how Christ had changed them.
I felt so alone, like I was the only one who was broken inside; the only one who was struggling.
I smiled with my other sisters in Christ, as they celebrated, as they had joy, as they gave their testimonies and talked about how Christ had changed them. But inside I asked God, “What about me?”
I spent much time crying behind closed doors, wondering if I’d been forgotten, if I’d done something wrong and why I was suffering so. I felt angry, sad, fearful.
I struggled so much sometimes to simply get out of bed and get my day started. I struggled with any kind of social interaction because of the anxiety and fear.
I struggled to even sleep at all because the fear and terror of the things I’d experienced ran through my mind. I suffered with nightmares and just being afraid, the anxiety and the brokenness was always with me.
Would I ever come out of this darkness?
Would I ever experience the joy?
Would I ever testify to what God had done in my life?
Would I always be broken?
Would I always look on as other people received, except me?
Have you ever been in that place where it seems so dark that you can’t see any way out, that maybe God couldn’t even help you, or didn’t want to?
You Can come out of the Brokenness
Dear sister, I am here to tell you that you can come out of that darkness. God has not forgotten you. And I want to share with you some scriptures and prayers that brought comfort to my heart during that time where I was so steeped in brokenness, when I was so afraid that I would never come out of it.
Afraid I would always struggle and that maybe God had forgotten me.
I came out of that brokenness.
I came out step by step, little by little.
And these bible verses to comfort the brokenhearted and this prayer that I’m going to share with you is something that really comforted my heart during that time and helped me to not give up.
The scriptures I’m going to share are from the new king James version,

Can I pray for you today?
Father God, I pray for my sister in Christ, who has been wondering if You’ve forgotten her, who has been wondering if she would ever be healed.
And I pray right now this very moment that You would reach down with Your presence and that You would just touch her life, Father, touch her heart, comfort her heart. Speak to her heart.
Encourage her, help her to not give up, help her to not give in and just sit down and mourn instead of stepping forward.
Thank you, Father, that You will help her to take the next step, and the next, and the next.
Thank you, Father, that You’ll help her to walk out of the darkness and you will set the captives free. Thank you, Father, that You are the healer of the broken, that you are near to the broken hearted, that you do not despise the broken, but you are so near and compassionate.
And Lord, as my sister in Christ walks towards you and enters into this intimate relationship with You, receiving encouragement from Your Word, praying her heart to You, Lord, that You would answer.
And if there’s anything in her life that’s keeping her from hearing You, from truly experiencing an intimate relationship with You, I pray Father that You would come in and You would just remove those things by your Holy Spirit.
Lord, I thank You for working in my sister’s life, for giving her the freedom she so desires.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
