Suppose a farmer planted seed in a field, and he watched and he waited; and nothing happened. Suppose he got so fed up with waiting for that seed to come up that he became frustrated and walked away, only to have the seed come up while he was gone. He was so caught up in his disappointment he missed the whole thing.
Sometimes we get so caught up in watching and waiting for our seed to come up that we take our eyes off Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith ( Heb 12:2). Yes, plant the seed, but keep your eyes on Him at all times, following His direction and His voice. He knows exactly what He has for you, and if you don’t give up, if you don’t give in to discouragement, one day you will walk right into it.
Don’t be surprised if what He has for us is more than we can ask or imagine (Eph 3:20).
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9 NIV).
