Will I ever be happy?
Will there ever be a day I can make it through without crying?
Will I ever be free from this pain and heartbreak?
These are all questions that ran through my mind, overwhelming me almost daily. Every minute, every hour, every day was filled with terrible pain that didn’t show on the outside.
Isolation became a way of life.
On a rare occasion, someone seemed to see the pain I was in. On this day, a counselor shook my hand and held it for a moment, the warmth of her hand touching mine. She looked into my eyes and said, “You have such great pain, but you will have great joy.”
I wanted to believe her. I just couldn’t see how I could ever have joy.
But you know what? I did.
And I believe I am still walking into more joy. I believe I am still walking into the good things God has for me.
There is a beginning in every healing process. A time when you take that first step, and surrender your hurt to God; when you decide by faith that God has good for you, and make the decision that you will not quit.
Instead, you will stand.
On days when everything in you wonders if it’s worth it, if you will ever win, if you will ever have joy, that is when, with all your might, you lean into the Lord and continue to stand.
Healing does not take place overnight but is a series of victories as Jesus leads you to a place of restoration. Each small victory leads to a greater one.
Today, if you picked up your Bible and received comfort from the Lord, that is a victory! You have chosen life instead of dwelling on the hurt and pain.
Today, if you spent time in the Lord’s presence through prayer or worship, that is a victory! You have received strength for today.
It is in the small steps you take towards God that the huge victory is won. He will meet you right where you are. He will take you through a process of healing, and will lead you into the life He has for you.
Every day that you decide not to quit is a victory!
May God heal your broken heart and bind up your wounds. May God bless you with His presence and lead you in the way everlasting. May He direct your steps, give you divine appointments and fulfill your hearts desires.
In His love,
Carolyn

A lovely and comforting post, Carolyn. A good word for all. Yes, as Jeremiah 30:17 says, “But I will restore health to you and heal you of all your wounds.” I love that word ALL – don’t you?
Have a wonderful evening with the promise of a new day,

Thanks Marianne. I do love the ALL? God Bless you and give you His peace.
