Most every morning, I get up to have some tea and read my Bible. I look forward to this time in anticipation, because I know that God is going to show me something new for my day through the word. Sometimes I can’t wait to see what He’s going to show me.

There was a time when my kids were little, if my husband was home, that I would go in the bathroom, not to use it, but to just sit and be quiet with the Lord. Sometimes that’s the only peace I got. I took my Bible in there and would escape for little bits at a time until someone needed Mommy.

We won’t always have huge blocks of time to get away with the Lord, but we can steal away for those few moments alone with Him. I know I always came away refreshed. And please don’t beat yourself up if you miss a day, God is not a taskmaster, but a loving Father who wants to spend time with his children.
