It wasn’t always this way. We never had a garden while I was growing up. But I watched my grandfather have a farm and raise chickens. I loved it. Those were some of the funnest days I remember, staying at his house. Sadly, we didn’t live close together for more than a couple of years. All I have are vague memories. But I kept those close to my heart.

Each one of us has a purpose, and we are all good at something. When I was little, watching my grandfather have a passion for gardening and farming brought out that same love for those things in me, years after he was gone. He may not be living on this earth anymore, but the memories and the love for the things he loved remain in me.

What we are passionate about, what we love comes through and speaks volumes to those around us. Even if we don’t see it at the moment, the things we do, the way we respond, can stick with people for a lifetime.

We can share our passion and love for Christ by living out our beliefs in everyday life, by being the example someone needs to see.

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another (John 13:35 NIV).
