Mark 1:29-31 World English Bible
Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. He came and took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them.
Immediately, they told him about her:
When your heart is broken
When you’re battling in your soul
Tell Jesus about it.
Let him know you’re hurting.
Give him your tears and your pain, surrender that hurt into His hands.
I’d like to read you a prayer from my book, God sees your tears:
A Prayer for Healing the Broken Heart
Father God, I lift my broken heart into your hands today, every broken piece, I thank you Father that nothing is wasted, but you will use this for the purpose of your kingdom. Lord, thank you that you have not forgotten about me. Breathe life back into my heart. Breathe life back into my spirit, and where brokenness has reigned I invite you in to heal my heart. Help me to live again in the abundance of your joy. Where I can’t even imagine being joyful, I ask for your presence to come in and heal. I choose to hope for a better day. I choose to believe your promises to me are true, and I choose to live with the faith that you are the healer of my broken heart, and that it will not always be this way. In Jesus’ name, amen.
He came and took her by the hand, and raised her up.

Bible college.
Pastor telling the story of how we think he will take us from point a to b in a straight line.
Then He started writing .. he takes us here, and there.. and here… what was left on the board was a mess of squiggly lines. ..but in the end, we got to point B, that place of healing.
Remember that even in the squiggly messes Hes’s working.
Exodus 13:17 – 18 It happened, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God didn’t lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt;” but God led the people around by the way of the wilderness by the Red Sea; and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.
Sometimes, it’s a squiggly mess.
Sometimes it’s the long way instead of the short way.
Trust that the Lord is working, even if you can’t see a way to point B, that place of healing.
He knows the way.
The Fever left her, and she served them
God wants to move you beyond this brokenness into a place of healing.
He has a plan for your restoration.
And if you will allow Him too, He will take what was meant for evil and use it for good.
He did not cause the pain you went through, but he can take your brokenness and make it into something beautiful.
Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
2 corinthians 1:4 says 2 Corinthians 1:4 – who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Dear Sister:
He sees you.
He sees your tears.
He knows your pain.
He has a plan for your restoration.
That plan may look different than you think, but know that in each step you take with Jesus, You are in His hands, and no one can snatch you out of His hands.
Give Him your pain, Expect Him to take you on a journey of healing that brings you beyond your pain into a place of healing.
In my own life he led me to counseling, to a ministry which helped the broken, and to many other people that helped point the way to my healing.
As you follow Him, He will lead you and guide you into wholeness.
Prayer
Father God, I pray for my sister in Christ today. Show her that you have a plan for her life, and that you will not leave her here in this broken place. Help her to trust you with her heart, and surrender the hurt and pain, the heartache into your hands. Give my sister in Christ what she needs today. Lead her to healthy people who will encourage her and build her up. And help her to know that you see her, truly see her. In Jesus name, amen.
