You want to pray, but sometimes you run into situations, and you can’t even find the words. Sometimes things are so emotional that all you can do is give God your tears. But today, I will show you how to pray God’s word over your life for any situation.

Find a Scripture

The first thing you want to do is find the scripture to pray, and you can do this by looking in a Concordance, which is a book that lists Scriptures according to topics. It’s kind of like a dictionary, but you look up the topic and instead of a definition, it will give you the Scriptures for that topic.

You can also find Scriptures through sites like blueletterbible.org. That’s one of my favorites to go to. You can put your topic into the search box and many Scriptures will come up, that deal with that topic.

Find scriptures that speak to your heart or speak the promises of God about your situation that you’re praying.

And I’m going to give you a couple examples of how I would turn scriptures into a prayer.

Isaiah 54:17

So my first example is Isaiah 54:17, it says, “but in that coming day, no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord and their vindication will come from me.I, the Lord have spoken (NLT).

So, to turn that scripture into a prayer, my example prayer would be,

Thank you, Father God, that no weapon turned against me will succeed. But with Your help, I will silence every voice raised up to accuse me. Thank you, Father, that vindication comes from you. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Romans 8:28

Another example is Romans 8:28, which says, “and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose” (NKJV)

I turn that into a prayer by saying,

Thank you, Father God, that You will work this situation out for my good, because I love you and I’m walking according to your purposes, to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Praying God’s word over your life is a powerful thing.

When you are praying God’s word over your life, you are praying His promises and his very breath into the situation.

Isaiah 55:11, says, “So shall my Word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (NKJV).

Can I pray for you today?

Father God, I pray for my dear sister in Christ where she has been crying out to you in her heart, but she hasn’t yet to find the words. I pray as she searches for the Scriptures to pray, to stand on in prayer, that you would highlight those Scriptures to her, and I pray Father, that as she reads Your word, You would highlight scriptures that she can pray about her situation, but also as she is in prayer, as she’s asking You for wisdom and direction and what Scriptures to pray that You would  bring the Scripture up within her heart by your Holy Spirit.

I pray Father, that You would help my sister to stand in faith to not give up,  that as she prays Your Word, that she would see mountains fall in her life. I pray that she would know that she knows that You are with her and that You will never leave her nor forsake her. In Jesus’ mighty name.
