bubble-309556_1280Depression weighed heavy on me, every thought negative, bringing tears to my eyes. Misery clung to me, clutching my mind and heart in its evil hands. Trying to think happy thoughts or worshipping wasn’t working.

In my office, a stack of cards I had recently written scriptures on sat on my desk. Putting my to-do list in the back of my mind, I held each one, looked at it, and read it aloud. By the time I was through that pack of about 50 cards, the depression was gone.

There is something powerful about speaking the word of God out loud. It causes the atmosphere inside and around us to change. It truly is living and active (Hebrews 4:12)

In this day and age, the enemy of our souls has come against the word full force. He has taken it out of schools, gotten it out of the public venue, and caused all sorts of distractions to keep us from one of the most powerful things available to us as Christians.

If you are struggling with depression or sorrow, I invite you to meditate on the word of God by speaking it out loud for the next thirty days.

You will experience the Power of Jesus Christ through the word of God.

In His love,

Carolyn
