When we remain in fellowship with Christ, it’s almost like a phone connection to Him. We can hear Him and He can hear us. But when we get into disobedience it can make that connection fuzzy (1 Peter 3:7). The wonderful thing is that because of God’s grace and mercy, we can always repent and come back into connection with Him.
It’s so easy to get up in the morning, get going and let the day fill up quickly. If we don’t make it a point to spend time with God in his word and in prayer, it can easily be put to the side, and eventually, without even meaning to, we’ve neglected the most important relationship in our life.
It does take effort on our part, to open our Bibles and spend time with God. Even if it’s only five minutes a day that you put aside, at least you’re doing something, and something is better than nothing.
We have a loving Father who wants to have conversations with us. He wants to hear what we have to say, and He wants us listening to Him, through his word, in prayer, and by walking in the Spirit throughout the day. We can keep that phone line open with God by making the effort to spend time with our heavenly Dad, not because we have to or we must, but because we love Him and want to hear what He has to say.
