Have you wondered how to walk with God into His plans for you?

As a young child, I lived on the edge of the Olympic national forest, which is miles and miles of forests surrounding a mountain and national park that is protected from ever being built upon. Often, we had deer and bobcats come into our yard just to name a few.

One of my earliest memories is taking a small hike through the woods with my older brother. I’m sure it wasn’t too far from our house because I was so small, but at the time that forest and the brush seemed so huge, too tall for me to even see over.

But I never had to worry when I was with my big brother, because he made sure I walked on the trail that he made for us. And when I think about that hike, I think about how Jesus also prepares the way for us when we follow Him.

When we spend time in prayer and in God’s word, when we walk with God and ask Him to guide us along the way, He leads us upon a path that He has already prepared for us to walk along.

Yet, when we go our own way, we can find ourselves lost in the brushes that we can barely see over. When that happens, all we need to do is cry out to Jesus and He will lead us onto the path that He has prepared for us.

We don’t have to make our own way in this world. We don’t have to come up with our own healing journey or make things happen for ourselves. There is a way to walk with God into His plans for your life.

All we need to do is simply follow Jesus and know that He has prepared the path before us to walk. As long as we walk with God through seeking His will for our lives, He will lead us and guide us into His plan for us.

Dear sister, you will not miss a thing.

Things to do to Walk with God

A few ways that we can follow Jesus is to be in the Word every day, to pray to the Lord and seek His direction.

And one of the things that you can also do is to pray a prayer of commitment over your day in the morning and ask the Lord for his plans to come to pass in your life.

You could pray something like this.

A Prayer of Commitment

Dear Lord, I commit this day to you. I ask you Father that Your plans and Your purposes would come to pass this day.  I ask that you lead and direct my steps into your will. Speak to my heart through your word and through prayer.

Thank you for directing me into all you have for me. May your purposes come to pass in my life today, in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Remember This About God’s Plans

So, one thing to remember, dear sister is that you are never, ever on this journey alone.

As it says in Hebrews, because God has said never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.

Hebrews 13:5 NIV

Jesus is right there with you.

What if You’ve Been Pushed off God’s Path for You?

And if you have fallen off the path or been pushed off the path by some brokenness or distractions of this life, if you feel like you just can’t go on or you can’t find your way or that you feel like you’re just too broken for God, simply call out to Jesus.

He will come and show you the way out.

It may not be instant, but it will take place over a period of time.

As you walk with God each day, He will lead you and guide you in the way that you should go.

Dear sister, I’d like to leave you with this passage of scripture as you think about walking out God’s plan for your life.

Psalm 1 39, 7-10 NIV says,

Where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the Dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there, your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

Can I pray for you today?

Father God, I pray for my dear sister in Christ. I pray for the places where she feels like she’s just been lost, where she feels like maybe she’s missed your plan for her life. Where she feels as if the brokenness that she’s lived has stolen your plans for her.

I pray that as she cries out to you, as she gives you her tears and her pain, and as she asks you to help her, I pray Father that you would show her that no one can snatch her out of your hand, that your plans for her can come to pass that she is not missing out, that she is not missing you or your plans for her because you are a God of restoration.

Thank you, father, that you heal the broken hearted and you bind up her wounds.

Lord, as she feels like maybe she’s fallen down and just feels so heavy and oppressed, I pray that your presence would come and help her to stand back up. And maybe that’s all she needs to do today, is just to stand back up, just to stand up and feel your presence, just to decide that she’s not going to give up.

To decide that she’s going to stand back up and continue with You, and that she’s not going to let what has happened to her stop her from moving forward with You.

Lord, I pray that you would brush the dust this world has placed upon her off of her, brush it off, cleanse her of the wounds and the ugly words that people have spoken over her.

Help her father to know that she is loved, that she is cherished, that she is valuable, that she is chosen by you.

Thank you, Father, that where she feels ugly, broken or of no account, that you call her beautiful and beloved and of great price in your kingdom.

Thank you, Father that in place of the rags she feels she’s wearing, that you dress her up in the beautiful gown that you have prepared for her.

You place those beautiful flowers in her hands and a crown upon her head.

Thank you, Father, that as she cries out to you and you help her to just stand back up today that you have a plan to take all of what’s happened, to restore her from the brokenness that nearly took her out and make her into something so beautiful.

Thank you, Father for leading and guiding my sister in Christ to you today, to help her know that she does not have to walk this path alone. And I pray father that you would encourage her, give her words of life, give her the wisdom that she’s cried out for, help her to know the way that she should go.

Give her wisdom and discernment. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
