Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; (Psalm 25:4 NIV).
I can ask the Lord to direct my steps in the way that I should go. He will lead me and guide me, I need not be afraid.
The Lord is faithful to answer when I ask him for direction. The Bible says that if any man lack wisdom, he can ask of the Lord and he will give to him without finding fault (James 1:5). I don’t have to run around trying to figure things out. I have Christ living inside of me (Gal 2:20), and he wants to teach me his ways; all I must do is ask (James 1:5).
Even when I open my Bible to read, I can ask the Lord to show me what he wants me to see. I don’t have to try and get something out of it myself, only ask him to show me. He is faithful.
I am not alone on this journey of life. The decisions and burdens are not mine alone to carry, but they are his if I give them to him. Oh how he hates to see the people he created carrying their many burdens alone. What a big weight those burdens can be! He wants us to give them to him, for his burden is light (Mat 11:30). All we must do is ask him to take them from us and put them into his hands. For some of us, this will be a process of learning to trust him.
We are God’s children. Our Daddy stands behind us and before us (Psalm 139:5). If you did not receive a good example of your heavenly father from your natural-born father, ask the Lord for an example. A good , loving father would not walk by his children struggling to carry the load. No, that father would say, “Here, let me help you.”
Will you let him help you carry the load? He doesn’t want you to carry it all alone. He loves you so much. Will you receive his love today?
Heavenly Father, I receive your love. Teach me how to walk in your paths. Take these heavy burdens from me. I don’t want to carry them anymore. I accept your help. Help me to love myself like you love me, then, let it pour out of me to others. Show me your ways, O Lord, and lead me on your path.
