Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3 NIV).
You may have had to deal with some hard things lately. But what is your hope in? There is always something to praise God for. If you keep your focus on things of this earth that aren’t going right, it can drag you down; but if you continually praise God, your focus will be lifted from the things of this earth to the things of heaven.
No matter what is going on around us, we can praise God for the fact that he has given us eternal life through Jesus Christ. If you can’t find anything else to praise Him for right now, praise Him for that!
When our focus changes from what is wrong to what we can be thankful and praise God for, our attitude changes as well.
God has poured his mercy out on us, chosen us to be his own and given us new birth into his kingdom.
Father I ask that you would reveal yourself to me and make yourself real to me. Help me to see the things I can be thankful for and the things I have to praise you for. Lift my eyes from the temporal things of this earth to the things of heaven. Help me to praise you all the days of my life. I want to walk with you. Amen.
