feelingWe were so excited for this camping trip.

My family and I so needed to get away and relax. My husband had rented a cabin and we were going to spend four glorious days in Eastern Washington, a place we have come to love.

My husband and I didn’t tell each other until later, but as we both packed, we would look up and see something, thinking, we should bring that.

When that happened to me, I dismissed it. Why would I want to bring that? We were going to be in a cabin!

We packed up the truck, and headed out on the four-hour drive; only to discover when we got there that the “cabin” my husband had rented was nothing more than half of a mobile home. That year, our camping trip was not what we expected.

Talking with each other later about those things we dismissed bringing, we realized those were the very things we could have used or ended up going out to buy.

Again, recently, we were hit with a situation where my husband and I needed to make a decision. We prayed that we would use wisdom and not emotions. I had gotten a feeling about this early on, but didn’t say anything. I figured God would let my husband know. I had been sick and didn’t really know if what I felt was right anyway.

Same thing. My husband had gotten a similar feeling…yet we did not act on it.

We ended up making the wrong decision. Luckily, we were able to turn things around quickly. But I learned something from this. When I get a feeling, even if I am unsure about it, it would be good to at least bring it up and talk about it.

Each one of us is the temple of Holy Spirit if we have accepted Christ. He knows much more than we do. So when you get one of those gut feelings, or something comes to mind, at least speak about it with someone else. Don’t ignore your gut. It could be the Lord telling you something.

He cares about the smallest details of your life.

for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.~2 Corinthians 6:16B
