I want to share a little bit of my own journey with you.

I started writing after I graduated Bible college, and then published my first book, Lord Heal My Heart, a Collection of Devotions.

Then I came out with Loved by the Father.

Before I wrote Loved by the Father, I prayed and fasted over what book I was to do next. And I got this download of what this book was supposed to look like in prayer. I mean, the whole outline of it.

So, I wrote Loved by the Father, a Bible study through John and First John about God’s love for us.

Then I prayed about what to write next.

And my husband says, “Well, do you think that’s a series?”

And I was like, “No, I write books. I don’t write Bible studies.”

I have a degree in Biblical studies, but I hadn’t ever thought about writing Bible Studies.

A week or so later, my friend and I were driving to the Bible college together, and she had no idea what my husband had said. And she goes, “Do you think it’s a series?”

And I’m like, “No. I write books. I don’t write Bible Studies.”

I went to more fasting and prayer about what the next book would be, and during that time, I felt that I was supposed to write a Bible Study about the Book of Mark.

Writing about the Book of Mark

So, I started studying and learning about the book of Mark.

I had this huge pile of notes of what I wanted to write about, but it got overwhelming. I met with this other woman who writes Bible studies, and she said, “You know, I only use about 20% of what I get in my study for the actual book.”

She spoke to me about having a theme for the Bible study, and writing about that.

Praying Again

I went to prayer again about the theme for this book and what kept coming up is John 14:9, which says, when you’ve seen Jesus, you’ve seen the Father.

So, finally, I had my notes and I had my theme.

Writing the First Draft

I wrote the first draft.

Then I prayed again, and felt like God was saying “Simple.”

Finally, after three different rewrites and paring it down, Healing the Father Wound was born.

It’s a very simple Bible study where you read through the book of Mark and just answer the questions. And the theme is seeing how our Heavenly Father is through looking at the actions of Jesus.

This coming Year’s Bible Study

As I prayed about this coming year, 2023, I felt led to share directly from this Bible study on my podcast and on video.

So next year, starting in January, I will be doing podcasts about this Bible study and we’ll be going through it together on the podcast and on video.

This is not something that I had planned to do, but I really felt strongly in prayer that this my next step.

I’ve also prayed about what to write next, and I feel like it’s another Bible Study. I have come to the conclusion that is, in fact a series. I bet God is chuckling.

So, I hope that you will stick with me as we go into 2023 and study Healing the Father Wound together.

If you want to get the book, I actually have it on sale right now until January.

You can get it either on eBook where you read the questions and write your answers on your own paper or get the paperback where I give ample space to write.

And if you just want to listen, that’s okay too.

Merry Christmas!

I am going to be taking the next week off to spend with my family during the holidays.  I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and I hope that you will come back with me in January to start talking about the first chapter of healing the father wound.

In His love,

Carolyn
