You know when you feel you’ve received God’s leading, you follow that direction, and nothing goes how you thought it would?
In our human minds, when you do what God says, the reward should come quickly. Right?
Even though we see all throughout the Bible that this is not always the case.
When You’re Still Waiting on God
In my situation, I felt God’s leading and obeyed that direction for years, doing what He told me to do and continues to confirm that it’s what I’m supposed to be doing.
But, I have yet to see the reward.
Instead, I have been distracted, met with obstacles, had people I love come against me, been called names, and struggled with discouragement. At times, I’ve wondered, God, why aren’t you doing anything? I’ve done everything you said!
Asking God For Encouragement
This weekend I told God I really needed some encouragement.
And it came, in a big way.
Sunday morning, the sermon was on the very scripture that God had given me in prayer about my situation. The words in the sermon were the very words I felt God spoke to my own heart.
Then, the pastor said, “When God tells you no, it means He’s got a bigger yes coming.”
I left that service feeling like the whole sermon was just for me, and I received the encouragement I needed to move forward.
Are You Still Waiting on God?
Is there some place where you’ve been feeling discouraged? Where you’ve obeyed God’s direction and haven’t yet seen the reward?
In the words of our Pastor, “He’s got a bigger yes coming.”
When you feel as if you can’t go on one second longer, or you wonder if you really heard God at all, when you find yourself in the fiercest of battles, remember, if God hasn’t come through for you yet, He’s got a bigger yes coming.
In His love,
Carolyn
