When will you heal me God?

It always seemed that no matter how far I came in my healing, there was so much more brokenness to work through. Would I ever truly be healed?

I heard people preach that being in the scriptures would heal you, so I spent hours studying, so much so that I exhausted myself; my eyes hurt, and I wouldn’t be able to read anything for the next few days. Hunger to grow and be healed consumed me.

What I wasn’t realizing was how far God had taken me already; the tapestry He was weaving into my life, and the beauty He had placed there. I only saw how much farther I had to go. I wanted God to hurry up and heal me! I wanted it right now.

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1 Peter 5:10 ESV

How Much Longer?

You may still have a ways to go in your healing. You may still cry at the drop of a hat, or let anger get the best of you at times. You may wonder when God is finally going to come through for you.

Today, I invite you to get out a sheet of paper and write down the things God has already done in your life. When did He give you salvation? When did that friend show up at just the right time? When did He give you what you needed or fulfill a promise in your life? Write these things down as a remembrance of what God has already done for you.

Hang that paper up or put it someplace where you will always see it. Let it remind you to thank the Lord for how far He has brought you. Remind yourself that God is faithful, and what He has promised He will do (Romans 4:21). He will not leave you here.

Know dear friend, that you are on a journey, and God will take you one step at a time. He has such great plans for you! Don’t lose sight of what He has already done while your reach for what you still want Him to do.

In His love,
