While training for ministry is when I learned the value of praise and worship.
Every other week one of us from the Cleansing Stream Discipleship class would be the one to receive prayer. It was a safe place for us all to deal with our own stuff before we went out to pray with others; but it was also a place of training, learning and discipling.
Every time prayer happened in that class, there was worship music playing softly in the background. One person was assigned to simply worship and look after the worship music while prayer took place.
From those years of training, I learned that worship is warfare.
At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the LORD caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves – 2 Chronicles 20:22 NLT
Many a time in my own life, when depression, anger or discouragement would come, I found freedom in worship.
Turning on a CD, raising my hands and singing to the Lord brought such release. At times I would bow my head and let the tears fall while music played, pouring my heart out to the Lord regarding struggles and emotional pain.
And each time, He met me there.
You can find strength, freedom and solace in the Lord through worship; rejoicing on your good days and finding encouragement on the not so good ones.
And each time, He will meet you there.
Love,
Carolyn
