Psalm 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters (NIV).

The Lord wants me to have peace. He doesn’t want me to feel like I have to run around trying to get all of these things done. If life is only a tornado of to do tasks, haven’t I missed the most important part?

Sometimes He has to knock on the door of our lives and point out that we’ve turned something into an idol without even knowing it, without even meaning to.  I’d rather have Him show me now than wait ‘till later and regret it. I want to put myself in a place of listening to the Lord.

He has called me to peace.

If my to do list has become bigger than Him, something’s wrong.

Time taken to sit down with Jesus is not wasted time at all. Trying to do things ourselves can lead us down paths that could take us years to heal from. Doing things His way is best for me.

I can take the time to seek Him first and not feel bad about it. He will lead me to peace.

I can place these burdens on Him, for He is able to hold them. He can show me what’s really important for my day.

I can look to Him and say, “I’m sorry for putting other things first. I’m sorry for making these things an idol in my life. Please forgive me and help me to do things your way. Lead me in the path of peace. Lead me beside those quiet waters, let me lie down in green pastures and enjoy your presence.”
