It’s easy to lose control of our thoughts and let them go any which way. Though I wish I could get thinking right down pat, it is a process. I sometimes have to remind myself to keep my mind on the good, and to keep thinking on the word of God (Philippians 4:8).
It’s just like when a child grows; he’s growing, but he doesn’t feel it. Then someone comes along and tells him how big he’s gotten, or he outgrows his clothes. It’s the same way with us, we enter into a process of growing, and sometimes we don’t even feel it, sometimes it seems we haven’t changed one bit, and then one day we realize we’ve outgrown an old way of thinking or doing things.
So even if you don’t see it all right now, know that growing is a process we don’t always feel. Keep going, keep reading the word, studying and memorizing scripture. Before you know it, you’ll realize you have grown, and so will the people around you.
I really enjoyed reading this piece because my thoughts too must come under the subjection of the Spirit of God (Phil. 4:8). And there’s no better way for that happening lest I read God’s word for a mind/renewal. Thank you for this confirmation. God bless you.
Thank you so much for your encouraging comment. God Bless you!
