The difference between acquaintances and friends is time. Acquaintances know who each other are, but they don’t know each other’s character, likes or dislikes. Friends have spent time together, have gotten to know one other, and from that time friendships were born.
The Lord wants you to know Him. He wants to spend time with you. It is through that time spent together with Him that a deep relationship is formed. We can get to know Him through His word, worship and prayer.
If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him” (John 14:7 NIV).
