Praising the Lord before we see the victory keeps our eyes focused on the victory and not on the negative. It keeps our hopes high, and keeps us before the Lord, praising Him for His action on our behalf.
When we take time to praise the Lord during the day, it helps us refocus our attention, bringing us back to a place of alignment with Him. We can praise the Lord with music, singing a song we know, singing along with the radio or a CD, or we can simply praise Him with our own words.
Praise is given to the Lord, but it also changes us. It says, Lord, You are in charge and I am choosing to trust you.
Your Father in heaven has given you a weapon, it is praise.
As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon
and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated (2 Chronicles 20:22 NIV).
